About Margin Calls
Trade Preview (Estimated) can estimate the changes of NLV (Net Liquidation Value), IM (Initial Margin), MM (Maintenance Margin), Max BP (Maximum Buying Power), and Max W/D (Maximum Withdrawal) after the order is filled. Estimations are based on quantity, direction, price, quotes, and assets. They are displayed in the trading currency. Please refer to the details below:
● Direction: Choose Buy or Sell to view the estimated changes.
● Current: The current account values.
● Post-trade: The anticipated account values after the order is filled according to its direction and quantity.
● Change: The difference between the current values and values after the order is filled.
● NLV (Net Liquidation Value): The sum of your cash and the current market value of all open positions in your account, excluding futures.
● IM (Initial Margin): A specific amount of money or securities you need to have in your account before you can open a position on margin. If the initial margin required exceeds your maximum buying power, you won't be able to open new positions.
● MM (Maintenance Margin): The minimum margin required to avoid immediate forced liquidation. If the maintenance margin required exceeds the sum of your Equity with Loan Value (ELV) plus the credit granted to your account, your positions may be liquidated immediately based on market conditions.
● Max BP (Max Buying Power): The maximum amount you can use when opening a new position. How much you can use may vary based on what you're trading and whether you're buying or selling.
● Max W/D (Max Withdrawal): The maximum amount you can withdraw to your bank account, including part of the borrowed margin funds and unsettled funds.
Note: Quotes and assets may change from time to time. There is no guarantee that estimations will be equal to actual changes. Estimations are for reference only, and FUTU HK shall not be responsible or liable for any loss incurred by Trade Preview (Estimated).
