1. What are trading permissions?
Trading permissions are authorizations to trade specific types of financial instruments or assets. Each instrument has unique characteristics and risk levels. You can activate trading permissions based on your investment goals, risk tolerance, and financial experience.
2. Default trading permissions
When you first open a universal account with FUTU HK, we assign default trading permissions based on your chosen account type and profile information.
3. Activate additional trading permissions
After opening your account, you can view and activate additional trading permissions:
- Margin Universal Account: HK Stocks, US Stocks, Stock Connect A-Shares, JP Stocks, SG Stocks, Funds, Bonds, Structured Notes, Futures, and Leveraged Forex.
- Cash Universal Account: HK Stocks, Funds, Bonds, Structured Notes, and Crypto.
Please note that certain trading products are only available to specific qualified individuals.
3.1 Access the activation page
To view and activate trading permissions in the Futubull app, use one of these three methods:
- Method 1: Tap the Search icon in the upper right corner of the page > Search for "Trading Permission" > Tap Learn More.
- Method 2: Go to the Accounts tab > Tap an account > More > Account Management > Activate Trading Permissions.

- Method 3: Go to the quotes page of a symbol and tap Trade. If you lack the required permission, you'll be redirected to the activation page.

3.2 Activation steps
1. Select the trading permissions you want to activate and tap Activate.
2. Complete the questionnaire or trading knowledge assessment (if applicable).
3. Read the risk disclosure.
4. Verify your identity and submit the request.
