If you are in immigration and without a passport, you can open an account with a non-permanent ID card and a travel document for the HKSAR. You are required to provide Futu with new identity documents afterward.
Documents for account opening: temporary ID card, travel documents for the HKSAR, address proof (issued within 3 months).
You need to submit your account documents in person to the Headquarters of Futu in Hong Kong. Documents are expected to be processed within 2-3 working days. And we will notify you by email, system message, etc, once the account is opened successfully.
