(Hong Kong - September 25, 2023) As a leading tech-driven digitalized brokerage in Hong Kong, Futu Securities International (Hong Kong)  Limited ("Futu") has always been committed to enhancing financial  literacy. We dedicated half a year  to create a board game designed to educate children about fundamental finance concepts. Recently, we enthusiastically organized a launch and trial ceremony at Tsuen  Wan D·PARK. During the launch, we also announced our collaboration with the Hong Kong Federation of Education Workers (HKFEW) to invite over 60  local primary schools to participate in upcoming inter-school Futu board game competitions. This initiative aims to instill strong financial  values in children from an early age. On the event day, we were delighted to have CSOP Asset Management Limited and InvestHK, a Hong  Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Government Department, as our  supporting entities. The event successfully attracted nearly 200  children and parents.

The event attracted dozens of children and parents to join and actively participated in the entire board game trial session, gaining financial knowledge.

Gamifying Abstract Investment Concepts: Futu Board Game as the Ultimate Parent-Child Activity and Teaching Tool

Futu's board game was created with the intention of cultivating financial literacy in children from a young age and reinforcing their financial perspectives. Through simulated scenarios in the game, abstract financial concepts such as 'savings,' 'investment,' 'compound interest,' and 'consumption' are simplified, providing children with essential financial knowledge and concepts while dispelling the notion that finance is shrouded in complex theories. Although the game primarily targets children, parents can also engage with certain financial concepts through this board game, fostering a bond between learning and entertainment and strengthening parent-child relationships. For schools, the 'Futu Wealth Path' serves as an up-to-date teaching tool that employs real-life situations to clarify financial knowledge, promoting correct and responsible financial values among students.

Incorporating Four Adorable Futu IP Elements to Boost Children's Interest in Financial Learning

The entire game, including its rules and IP, was masterminded by Futu, centering around the four main Futu characters: Moomoo, Rich, Dollars and TuTu, who plan outdoor activities for holidays. Each player embodies one of these characters, aiming to accumulate the most "Moomoo's points" from cards to win. "Moomoo's points" are earned by successfully completing activity cards, each outlining specific resource requirements. Players have the choice to either use their earnings directly each round or invest in "Savings," "Funds," or "Stocks" to boost their income each round. This strategy allows them to accumulate wealth, acquire additional resources for activities, and, as a result, earn more "Moomoo's points."

Mr. Li Hua, founder of Futu Securities, said: "Currently, the prevailing parenting perspective places a strong emphasis on academics for children, often overlooking the importance of early financial education. However, in light of escalating inflation and overburdened retirement and healthcare systems, financial literacy is gradually becoming an indispensable subject for kids. Many countries have even integrated financial education into their school curricula. In response to this, we've designed and launched our own board game to assist children in understanding the basics of money management. Our objective is to make financial learning not just informative but enjoyable, turning it from a mundane task into an engaging experience through various in-game challenges. In the future, Futu will continue leveraging its influence by organizing local events and offline seminars to instill solid financial principles, promote financial literacy, and empower more individuals to acquire investment and financial knowledge."
