Futu Supports Hong Kong People as Principal Sponsor of Oxfam Trailwalker 2024 for Six Consecutive Years Empowering Underprivileged Community

(Hong Kong – 18 November, 2024) Organized by Oxfam Hong Kong, with Futu Securities International (Hong Kong) Limited ("Futu") serving as the Principal Sponsor, the Oxfam Trailwalker (OTW), Hong Kong's largest fundraising hiking event successfully concluded on November 17.  

This year, over 60 teams sent by Futu, consisting of its employees and Hong Kong citizens, joined the hike, which began with a rainy start on November 15. The Futu teams demonstrated strong commitment and team spirit on the '40th Anniversary Edition' route, securing the championship and the second place with finish times of 5 hours and 46 minutes and 7 hours and 7 minutes, respectively. On the more challenging 100km trail, four Futu teams made the first ten teams to cross the finish line, with the fastest team completing the trail in 13 hours and 7 minutes, winning the third place among all participating teams. All funds raised during the event will be allocated to support Oxfam’s various poverty alleviation and emergency relief projects in Africa and Asia.

With an unwavering commitment to empowering local communities and improving the living conditions of underprivileged people, Futu proudly took on the role of Principal Sponsor for the OTW event for the first time this year. In celebration of its 40th anniversary, this year’s OTW introduced a special “40th Anniversary Edition” route, starting at Pak Tam Chung in Sai Kung and concluding at Gilwell Campsite on Fei Ngo Shan (Kowloon Peak), which drew the participation of 1,224 challengers, including less experienced participants.
